Volleyball Recap: Covenant Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Newman

The Covenant Christian Academy Cougars made easy work of Newman on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

One reason for the win was Covenant Christian Academy's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-11.

Grace Motroni had a dynamite game, getting nine aces and four digs. That's the most aces she has posted over her last eight contests.

Covenant Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Newman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Covenant Christian Academy and Montrose will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newman, they are taking a road trip to take on Marie Philip at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
