Basketball Recap: Illini West Takes a Loss

Illini West lost against Quincy Notre Dame back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Illini West Chargers took a blow against the Quincy Notre Dame Raiders, falling 63-31. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Raiders are ranked 11th).

This is the second loss in a row for Illini West and nudges their season record down to 12-12. As for Quincy Notre Dame, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Illini West will face off against Brown County at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Quincy Notre Dame, they will take on Bloomington Central Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bloomington Central Catholic will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Quincy Notre Dame surely won't give up without a fight.
