Football Recap: Clyde Takes a Loss

Clyde played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 63-14 loss at the hands of the Perkins Pirates. The Fliers haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Sam Schweinfurth continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Perkins, throwing for 234 yards and five touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Schweinfurth a new career-high in rushing yards (11). Connor Smith was another key player, picking up 79 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Clyde's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Perkins, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Clyde will host Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Fliers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Perkins, they will venture away from home to square off against Sandusky at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
