Basketball Recap: Lutheran Takes a Loss

Lutheran pushed their score to 43 the last time they played Phoenix, but on Monday they couldn't quite do it again. The Lutheran Gryphons were dealt a 44-13 loss at the hands of the Phoenix Spartans. The Gryphons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Lutheran dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Phoenix, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season.

Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 37-36 win against Ecole Classique on the 12th. As for Phoenix, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-37 defeat against Metairie Park Country Day on the 11th.
