Basketball Game Preview: Unity Christian Academy Warriors vs. Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners

Unity Christian Academy is 0-3 against Pamlico Christian Academy since November of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will be home for the holidays to greet the Mariners at 7:00 p.m. Unity Christian Academy has given up an average of 65.2 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Unity Christian Academy is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Terra Ceia Christian last Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warriors took a blow against the Knights, falling 66-28. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-19.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jake Whitehurst, who posted 13 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Talen Swanner, who had two points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Pamlico Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They breezed past the Conquerors to the tune of 60-33. The Mariners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 25 points or more this season.

The win got Pamlico Christian Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Unity Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Unity Christian Academy took a serious blow against Pamlico Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January, falling 64-36. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
