Basketball Recap: Rancho Christian Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Rancho Christian entered their match against Rancho Buena Vista on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Rancho Christian Eagles fell to the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns 76-72. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2014.

It was another big night for CJ Aldrich, who went 15 for 26 on his way to 38 points along with six rebounds and five assists for Rancho Buena Vista. That makes it three consecutive games in which Aldrich has scored at least a third of Rancho Buena Vista's points. Caden Keys was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 13 points.

Rancho Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-11. As for Rancho Buena Vista, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-9.

Rancho Christian will head out to take on Valley View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Valley View likes a good challenge. As for Rancho Buena Vista, they will host Torrey Pines at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Torrey Pines will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Rancho Buena Vista surely won't give up without a fight.
