Baseball Game Preview: Jackson County Panthers vs. Jesuit Tigers

The Jackson County Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Jesuit Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

If Jackson County beats Jesuit with seven runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Panthers walked away with a 7-2 victory over Palm Beach Central on Wednesday.

Charlie Crowe looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Garrett Klein, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Preston Wilson, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Jesuit is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Blessed Trinity. The Tigers put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 10-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Samir Mohammed made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mohammed was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Robby Santana was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Kaden Waechter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first doubles of the season.

Jackson County's record now sits at 13-11. As for Jesuit, their record is now 16-8.
