North Central had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lewisville Lions on Friday and snuck past 6-4. The win was just what North Central needed coming off of an 11-1 loss in their prior contest.
Patton Hood made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Hood has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Hood was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colt Babic, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3.
The victory got North Central back to even at 9-9. As for Lewisville, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7.
