Soccer Game Preview: Wellington vs. Park Vista

The Wellington Wolverines will square off against the Park Vista Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wellington is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

Wellington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Palm Beach Central an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won six matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Palm Beach Central from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Rebecca Quintero led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Park Vista had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Leonard by a score of 3-1 on Friday. Given the Cobras' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Lancers are ranked 212th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win got Park Vista back to even at 6-6-2. As for Wellington, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.

Everything went Wellington's way against Park Vista when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Wellington made off with a 4-0 win. Does Wellington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Park Vista turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
