The Norwell Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Carroll Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Norwell's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Carroll's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Thursday, Norwell earned a 7-4 win over Bellmont.
The team relied heavily on Drew Graft, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Trey Privett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Carroll posted their closest victory since April 1st on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Warsaw, sneaking past 7-6.
Aaron Behnfeldt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jaxon Sparks was incredible, getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April. Another player making a difference was Eric Tratnyek, who got on base in three of his seven plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Norwell has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Carroll, their record is now 8-6.
Norwell skirted past Carroll 2-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
