Basketball Game Preview: Eaglecrest Raptors vs. Monarch Coyotes

The Eaglecrest Raptors will venture away from home to face off against the Monarch Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eaglecrest will be strutting in after a win while Monarch will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Eaglecrest beat Denver South 68-57. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raptors.

Garrett Barger went supernova for Eaglecrest, going 9 for 12 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Barger has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Kalimba, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Monarch played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 75-48 loss at the hands of Arvada West. The Coyotes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-26.

Eaglecrest will have to contain Ryder Hutton as he made an impact in Monarch's last game. He posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Ehrnstrom, who put up ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Monarch and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Eaglecrest, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
