Basketball Recap: Severance Starts off Right with Win over Eaton

Severance had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 59-44 victory over the Eaton Reds on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Silver Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Severance got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Varney out in front who shot 50% from the field on his way to 20 points. Brady Iversen was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 16 points and seven rebounds.

Despite the loss, Eaton still got an impressive performance from Crew Haythorn, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Crider, who put up eight points and 11 boards.

Looking ahead, Severance will head out on the road to challenge Resurrection Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eaton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-18 victory against Northridge on the 4th.
