Baseball Recap: Liberty Magnet Takes a Loss

Liberty Magnet was the 7-4 winner over East Iberville when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Liberty Magnet Patriots fell 8-3 to the East Iberville Tigers on Saturday.

Daniel Sanchez put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Sanchez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tavarius Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was Brown's first of the season. Another was Seth Trosclair, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Liberty Magnet's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for East Iberville, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coincidentally, Liberty Magnet and East Iberville will both be playing Port Allen the next time they take the field. Liberty Magnet will head out to face Port Allen at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while East Iberville will host them at 3:35 p.m. on Wednesday.
