Soccer Game Preview: Monta Vista vs. Harker

The Monta Vista Matadors are taking a road trip to square off against the Harker Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Monta Vista is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

On Monday, Monta Vista and Valley Christian finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Yichen Gao and Conner Kwan scored both of Monta Vista's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Harker's and San Lorenzo Valley's matchup on Thursday was close at halftime, but Harker turned on the heat in the second half with two goals. Harker was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over San Lorenzo Valley. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly three goals.

The win made it two in a row for Harker and bumps their season record up to 2-0. With that draw, Monta Vista's record moves to 2-0-2.

Monta Vista came up short against Harker when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 3-1. Can Monta Vista avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
