Softball Game Preview: Grace Christian Academy Lions vs. Providence Christian Academy LIONS

The Grace Christian Academy Lions will head out to challenge the Providence Christian Academy LIONS at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday. Grace Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Providence Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Grace Christian Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt The Webb School on Tuesday. The Lions blew past the Feet 10-2. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Feet: they've now won four in a row.

Audrey George made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Elaina Morgan was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Whitaker, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Providence Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Columbia Academy, falling 11-1.

Providence Christian Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Harbour, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Harbour hit this season.

Providence Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Grace Christian Academy, their record is now 4-9.

Grace Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 17-5 loss they got from Providence Christian Academy in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
