Volleyball Recap: Bishop Hartley's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Bishop Hartley lost against St. Francis DeSales back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Hawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stallions. While the Hawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Stallions 25-17 in the first set.

Bishop Hartley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 28-26, 27-25, 25-12.

Maddie Ryan paced Bishop Hartley's offense, picking up 16 kills. Ryan got some help from Malory Matheny and her 27 assists. Karah O'Malley controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

With the loss, Bishop Hartley broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3. As for St. Francis DeSales, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Bishop Hartley has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Granville on the 6th. As for St. Francis DeSales, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Thomas Worthington on the 4th.
