Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Lexington's Winning Streak

It was fun while it lasted, but Lexington's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Tuesday. They fell 43-36 to the A.C. Flora Falcons. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Lexington lost, don't look at Sydni Anderson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. The game was Anderson's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Saville, who posted seven points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Lexington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

It was another big night for Teonna Draughn, who earned 13 points along with six steals and five boards for A.C. Flora. With that strong performance, Draughn is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Mickens, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Lexington's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-1. As for A.C. Flora, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-3.

Lexington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-34 win against Ben Lippen on the 13th. As for A.C. Flora, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-38 victory against Northwestern on the 11th.
