Basketball Recap: Watertown Gets the Win

Watertown won the last time they faced Wilby and things went their way on Friday too. In a tight game that could have gone either way, the Watertown Indians made off with a 44-43 victory over the Wilby Wildcats.

Despite the loss, Wilby still got an impressive performance from Ja'Nell Saunders, who posted eight points along with 13 boards and three blocks. Saunders is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last six games she's played. Anabel Mercedes was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven boards.

The win got Watertown back to even at 1-1. As for Wilby, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 8-5.

Watertown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilby, they will host Amistad at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilby is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
