Baseball Game Preview: Hopkins Royals vs. Rogers Royals

Hopkins will face off against Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopkins will be strutting in after a victory while Rogers will be coming in after a loss.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Hopkins and St. Michael-Albertville, and Hopkins kept the tradition alive. The Royals won by a run and slipped past the Knights 8-7.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Rogers' offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wayzata on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Royals in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.

The win got Hopkins back to even at 8-8. As for Rogers, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Hopkins couldn't quite finish off Rogers when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Hopkins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
