Baseball Recap: Berman Hebrew Academy Triumphs

Berman Hebrew Academy hadn't done well against Burke recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cougars skirted past the Bengals 8-7. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Noah Lichtman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Berman Hebrew Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. Lichtman was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, James Sohl was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Sohl is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Frankel, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Berman Hebrew Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Burke, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

As of now, neither Berman Hebrew Academy nor the Bengals have any future games scheduled.
