Baseball Game Preview: Hazleton Area Cougars vs. Parkland Trojans

The Hazleton Area Cougars will take on the Parkland Trojans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hazleton Area 4, Parkland 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Friday, Hazleton Area didn't have quite enough to beat Dallas and fell 4-3.

Meanwhile, Parkland unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Whitehall by a score of 4-3. Trojans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Zephyrs since on Friday.

Parkland got a good showing from Steven Sepko, who pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Sepko a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Parkland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Weninger, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hazleton Area's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Parkland, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.
