Cuero waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against the La Vernia Bears. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Gobblers have posted since March 4th.

The team relied heavily on Audrey Kremling, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Morrow, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Cuero's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for La Vernia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cuero will take on Gonzales at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Vernia, they will square off against John F. Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears are facing the Rockets at the right time seeing as the Rockets are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
