Worthington Kilbourne and Fairmont squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Worthington Kilbourne had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Firebirds. The Wolves' defeat signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Worthington Kilbourne saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Asher Post had 24 digs. Those 24 digs set a new season-high mark for Post.

Worthington Kilbourne's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Fairmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Worthington Kilbourne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fairmont, they will face off against Thomas Worthington at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The CARDINALS will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Firebirds surely won't give up without a fight.
