Baseball Recap: Sam Houston Hurricanes vs. Lanier Voks
Sam Houston extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-13. They lost 16-4 to the Lanier Voks. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Voks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.
Jayvon Dorsey was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those runs marked the first that he has scored this season.
Lanier's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-13. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Lanier's side, they got a great performance from Mahmadulah Azizi as he pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.
