Basketball Recap: Green Valley Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Green Valley won the last time they faced Bonanza and things went their way on Thursday too. The Green Valley Gators managed a 56-52 victory over the Bonanza Bengals. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gators.

Deymien Tunis was the offensive standout of the contest as he posted 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Corbin, who earned six points.

Green Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Green Valley is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Bonanza, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Valley will venture away from home to challenge Faith Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Green Valley likes a good challenge. As for Bonanza, they will head out to square off against Sunrise Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
