Baseball Recap: Roosevelt's Win Ends 14-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Roosevelt ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Aurora Greenmen 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-2 on April 14th.

Tristyn Page spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Roosevelt's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Roosevelt's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was John Estep, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Estep's first of the season.

Roosevelt's victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-6. As for Aurora, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Roosevelt will welcome Brecksville-Broadview Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Aurora, they will head out to face off against Copley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
