Volleyball Recap: East Burke Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Addie Brittain and Hermione Garro

East Burke was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Patton Panthers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

East Burke took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-17.

Despite the loss, East Burke had strong showings from Hermione Garro, who had 11 digs and one assist, and Addie Brittain, who had four digs. Garro has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

East Burke's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Patton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Burke will take on McDowell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Patton, they will challenge Draughn at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
