Softball Recap: Willcox Cowboys vs. Crismon Rattlers
Willcox pushed their score all the way to ten on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of the Crismon Rattlers by a score of 12-10. Willcox was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Crismon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.
Layla Donahue and Emma McWilliams stepped up to the plate in a big way. Donahue scored a run while going 2-for-4, while McWilliams scored a run while going 3-for-5. Abi Tingle was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Even though they lost, Willcox kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
On Crismon's side, Skylar DaCosta was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiara Minjarez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Willcox has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Crismon, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willcox will challenge Pima at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crismon, they will head out on the road to face off against Amphitheater at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crismon is facing Amphitheater at the right time seeing as Amphitheater is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
