Marbury entered their tilt with Wetumpka on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Wetumpka Indians 60-43. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-28 back in November of 2024.

Marbury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nunu Jernigan led the charge by putting up 11 points along with eight boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Elsie Davis, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.

Marbury smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wetumpka only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

Wetumpka's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mya Richardson, who put up 12 points. Logan Banks was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

Marbury has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Wetumpka, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-11.

Marbury didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-19 win against Booker T. Washington Magnet on the 25th. As for Wetumpka, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-22 victory against Percy Julian on the 27th.
