Baseball Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.89 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marquette Catholic Explorers. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Explorers when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jack Zipprich and Drew Wallendorf did some serious damage despite the final result: Zipprich went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Wallendorf went 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Marquette Catholic, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Calhoun wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-4 win against Southwestern on the 3rd. As for Marquette Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-1 victory against Wesclin on the 5th.
