Football Recap: St. John Paul II Takes a Loss

After flying high against Danville last Friday, St. John Paul II came back down to earth. The Falcons had to suffer through a 49-21 loss at the hands of the Plainview Bears. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Bears are ranked 94th).

Mark Andrzejewski and Joey Ross certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Andrzejewski gained 166 total yards and two touchdowns, while Ross rushed for 97 yards and one score. Andrzejewski's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 108 receiving yards.

St. John Paul II's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Plainview, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-0.

St. John Paul II does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Plainview, they will challenge Brooks at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Bears will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
