Basketball Recap: American History Comes Up Short

American History lost against Kearny back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The American History Eagles were outmatched by the Kearny Kardinals and fell 61-28. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.

Despite the loss, American History still got an impressive performance from Shamiyah Mubarak, who posted 14 points. What's more, Mubarak also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Erica Lawson, who put up seven points.

American History's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Kearny, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

American History won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against McNair Academic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kearny, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Hoboken at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
