Baseball Game Preview: Cypress Creek Cougars vs. Jersey Village Falcons

For the second straight game, Cypress Creek will face off against Jersey Village. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cypress Creek has three straight victories, Jersey Village has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Cypress Creek took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Jersey Village, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Falcons 5-4.

For Jersey Village's part, Nathan Ultis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. Ultis has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Roy King made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicolas Gomez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Jersey Village's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Cypress Creek, their win bumped their record up to 7-20-1.
