South View is  a perfect 8-0 against Douglas Byrd since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Tigers will face off against the Eagles at 6:00  p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South View has three straight  victories, Douglas Byrd has nine straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, South View got the win against E.E. Smith  by a conclusive  49-28. The  matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Tigers had established  a  20-point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South View to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Cristian Simmons, who rushed for 214 yards and a pair of  TDs while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ahmad Carmichael, who gained 140 total yards and two touchdowns.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: South View was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 355  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
 Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Douglas Byrd's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  63-0 to Westover, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Saturday's   contest might be decided in the trenches. South View has been unstoppable on the ground this season,  having  averaged 236.3  rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Douglas Byrd, though, as  they've been averaging  only 50.3  rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
