Baseball Recap: East Windsor Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coventry, East Windsor was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the East Granby Crusaders by a score of 8-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Elias Jacobs was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over 5.2 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on AJ Paradis, who went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Misa Claudio, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one run.

East Windsor's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for East Granby, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Coming up, East Windsor will challenge Academy of Aerospace and Engineering at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Jets at the right time seeing as the Jets are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for East Granby, they will square off against Ellington at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
