Pelion barely beat Bamberg-Ehrhardt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pelion Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders an 11-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was just business as usual for the Panthers, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Rhaygen Platts made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only two walks, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Pelion let Savanna Padgett and Summer Randolph run wild. Padgett went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Randolph scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Randolph has posted since back in March of 2024. Emma Jackson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Pelion's win bumped their record up to 3-0.
Coming up, Pelion will be playing at home against Fox Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, they will head out to square off against Barnwell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Barnwell will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bamberg-Ehrhardt surely won't give up without a fight.
