Football Recap: Santana Takes a Loss

Santana lost against Grossmont back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sultans took a blow against the Foothillers, falling 46-6. The game marked the Sultans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kyle Carnes threw for 51 yards on three of 11 attempts. Ethan Smith was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards.

The critical scores for Grossmont came from Kaiden Ong, Kai Jones, and Colton Burke.

Santana has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Grossmont, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Santana didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-7 win against Monte Vista on the 17th. As for Grossmont, they have also already played their next contest, a 48-27 victory against West Hills on the 17th.
