Football Recap: Santana Takes a Loss

Santana lost against Grossmont back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sultans took a blow against the Foothillers, falling 46-6. The matchup marked the Sultans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kyle Carnes threw for 51 yards on three of 11 attempts. Ethan Smith was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards.

Santana has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Grossmont, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Santana is set to square off against their familiar foe Monte Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Grossmont will face off against rival West Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
