Basketball Recap: Boyertown Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Boyertown had lost five straight headed into Tuesday's matchup, but Trey Kern didn't let it get to six. The Boyertown Bears came out on top against the Norristown Eagles by a score of 73-62 on Tuesday thanks in part to Kern, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Boyertown's points.

Braiden Luft was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Boyertown's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Norristown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Boyertown will square off against Perkiomen Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Boyertown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Norristown, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spring-Ford at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Norristown knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Spring-Ford likes a good challenge.
