Basketball Recap: Liberty Comes Up Short on the Road Against William Campbell

Liberty had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the William Campbell Generals by a score of 52-50 on Wednesday. The Minutemen just can't catch a break and have now endured 20 defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Liberty saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ayden Padgett dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Evan Lee, who posted six points in addition to nine boards and three blocks.

William Campbell moved to 1-1 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-35 victory against William Campbell on the 11th. William Campbell has also already played their next game, a 53-11 defeat against Staunton River on the 5th.
