Basketball Recap: Oxford Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Walton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oxford Academy). They enjoyed a cozy 54-40 win over the Walton Warriors on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Blackhawks: when they faced off against the Warriors last Wednesday, they had to take a 39-31 loss.

Despite the defeat, Walton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Grace Walley dropped a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards. Walley is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Oxford Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Walton, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Oxford Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Walton, they will challenge Bainbridge-Guilford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
