Baseball Game Preview: Penasco Panthers vs. McCurdy Bobcats

Penasco hasn't had much luck against McCurdy recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Panthers will square off against the Bobcats at 10:00 a.m. Penasco has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Penasco couldn't beat Estancia on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Panthers lost 19-6 to the Bears.

Xzavier Montoya was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Dylan Mu?oz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when McCurdy faced off against Questa on Thursday. The Bobcats came up short against the Wildcats, falling 27-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 10th, but that streak is no more.

Ethan Bolton made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Ethan Martinez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Penasco's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for McCurdy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Penasco suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to McCurdy in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
