Volleyball Game Preview: Rigby Trojans vs. Madison Bobcats + How To Watch

Rigby is 0-10 against Madison since October of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Rigby comes in on three and Madison on 39.

If Canyon Ridge wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Rigby, they should've done a better job of containing Breleigh Youngstrom. The Trojans put the hurt on the Riverhawks with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday for which the team can thank Youngstrom, who had 13 digs and one assist. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-19, 25-14.

Meanwhile, Madison faced Thunder Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Bobcats blew past the Titans 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-15, 25-19.

Rigby better keep an eye on Brooke Wheeler. She was instrumental in Madison's win, getting 16 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Wheeler has posted over her last 23 contests.

Rigby's record is now 29-6. As for Madison, their record now sits at 29-0.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Rigby has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Madison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Rigby couldn't quite get it done against Madison in their previous matchup two weeks ago as they fell 2-0. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
