Basketball Game Preview: Covenant Classical Warriors vs. SouthLake Christian Academy Eagles

The Covenant Classical Warriors will venture away from home to face off against the SouthLake Christian Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Covenant Classical is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy last Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Covenant Classical had to suffer through a 67-24 loss at the hands of Liberty Preparatory Christian Academy. The Warriors were down 50-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Thomas Way put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted seven points.

Meanwhile, SouthLake Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 10, 2024 on Saturday. They were outmatched by Asheville Christian Academy and fell 78-44. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Lions are ranked 34th).

SouthLake Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Covenant Classical, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6.
