Football Recap: Pineville Piles Up the Points Against Avoyelles

Pineville won the last time they faced Avoyelles and things went their way on Friday too. The Rebels blew past the Mustangs 69-14. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Rebels had established a 42-point advantage.

Avoyelles' loss came despite strong showings from Kelvin Jones and Terraj Valant. Jones picked up 109 receiving yards and one TD, while Valant threw for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 passes.

Pineville has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 56.5 points this season. As for Avoyelles, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pineville will square off against Tioga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Avoyelles, they will challenge Bunkie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
