Mater Dei Catholic's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Chula Vista 7-0. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Otay Ranch hasn't lost a match since December 27, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past Castle Park 2-1.

Hector Cardenas and Hiram Mora scored both of Otay Ranch's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Mater Dei Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-1-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those nine matches. As for Otay Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5-7.
