Softball Recap: Alcona Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Alcona nor Mio-Au Sable made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Tigers lost 15-1 to the Thunderbolts. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbolts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Alcona saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elliyana Grimshaw, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Alcona and nudges their season record down to 12-8. As for Mio-Au Sable, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Alcona will square off against Oscoda at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mio-Au Sable, they will take on Rudyard at 4:00 p.m. on the 19th.
