Football Recap: Lakeland Skates Past Booker T. Washington with Ease

Lakeland got themselves on the board against Booker T. Washington on Friday, but Booker T. Washington never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 43-0 win over the Tornadoes. The match marked the Dreadnaughts' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Lakeland found their leader in sophomore Ahnarri Cooper, who rushed for 85 yards and one TD on only six carries. Kevin Hendrix was in the mix too, providing the Dreadnaughts with two scores.

The win made it two in a row for Lakeland and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.5 points over those games. As for Booker T. Washington, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Lakeland and Booker T. Washington should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Dreadnaughts (ranked eighth) will meet Lake Gibson (ranked 154th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Lakeland 11, the Braves 9.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Booker T. Washington will square off against Miami Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (104 vs. 407).
