Basketball Recap: Safford Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palo Verde, Safford was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Round Valley Elks by a score of 56-46. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 41-36 victory the Elks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Round Valley lost, don't look at Wyatt Reed. Despite the final result, he went 8 for 16 en route to 22 points. Brennan Brown was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.

Safford's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Round Valley, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Safford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-67 loss against Empire on the 20th. Round Valley has also already played their next match, a 56-42 victory against Hopi on the 21st.
