Baseball Recap: Walkertown Triumphs

Walkertown posted their closest victory since April 8, 2025 on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers 4-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wolfpack as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Walkertown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Olmedo, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Olmedo has posted since back in February. Caden Joyce was another, going 2-for-3 with one triple.

Walkertown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Walkertown's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Bartlett Yancey, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Walkertown beat the Buccaneers by a score of 8-6 later that day.
