Basketball Recap: Notus Comes Up Short

Notus played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 59-15 loss at the hands of the Nyssa Bulldogs. The matchup marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Notus saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Fatima Alvarez posted nine points.

Notus' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Nyssa, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4.

Notus has already played their next game, a 47-39 defeat against Compass Charter on the 2nd. As for Nyssa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-30 loss against Cascade Christian on the 1st.
